Looking to go pumpkin picking near London? You’ve come to the right place!

Pumpkin picking is one of my favourite activities to do in Autumn in the UK, and these are some of the best pumpkin patches near London to find your favourite oversized orange vegetable. 🎃

During the month of October in the UK, pumpkins come into season. The leaves change colour, and the magic of Halloween creeps into the air. But finding a pumpkin patch actually in London is near enough impossible.

If you’ve ever visited London before, you’ll know it’s not known for its extensive countryside. Whilst it has its fair share of parks and green spaces, you’ll need to travel out of Central London to find a great pumpkin patch.

Luckily, there are plenty of pumpkin patches dotted near London. Depending on where you’re travelling from, most of the pumpkin patches on this list can be reached by car in under an hour.

So, whether you’re looking for a fun day out or just want to visit a pumpkin field for your Instagram feed (it’s OK, we don’t judge here), this post has all of the best pumpkin-picking farms near London for 2023.

🎃 NOTE: This post has been updated for the Autumn Halloween season of 2023.

Pumpkin Picking Near London: A Summary

The traditions of pumpkins and Halloween have been around for centuries. The Irish brought the spooky tales of Stingy Jack to America, and now the tradition of a bright orange pumpkin on your doorstep has reached countries all over the world.

It’s no secret that we love Autumn in the UK. And pumpkin picking is no exception.

Due to the increase in popularity, farmers have taken the chance to make pumpkin picking more of an experience, rather than just picking a random orange vegetable out of the muddy soil.

In 2023, most pumpkin patches near London have interactive activities, Halloween festivals, fireworks, BBQs, live music, dancing, mazes and other attractions to get us into the spooky season.

If you’re visiting a pumpkin patch for the first time, I highly recommend:

  • 🎃 Pre-booking your pumpkin picking slot online. Some farms do not allow walk-ins as they are so high in demand.
  • ☔️ Wearing Wellington boots (aka, wellies), as the farms are extremely muddy. But any pumpkin patch clothes are fine, as long as you don’t mind getting a little dirty when walking around.
  • ⚙️ Picking up a wheelbarrow from the entrance of the farm to hold your pumpkins.
  • 💸 Taking cash. Although most pumpkin patches in the UK will accept credit cards, there are often independent sellers and market stalls that will only accept cash.
  • 📸 Don’t be afraid to take photos! Pumpkin patches are so beautifully aesthetic, and you will notice many people with their cameras in hand. This is expected. And if you don’t want to take photos, don’t judge the people who do!
